Executive teamMr Herman uit de Bosch, the General Director of FairMatch Support, is one of the founders. He has over 15 years of working experience in supply chain development, matching companies to (small-scale) producers and vice versa. He has been involved in developing new supply chains with companies like AHOLD, Unilever, AgroFair, Kuyichi, Vlisco, Reef etc. He has also played a major role in the start-up of new initiatives like Savanna Farmers Marketing Company in Ghana, a support programme of the Fair Trade Foundation in Australia and New Zealand (for producers from the Pacific) and many other initiatives. He has an outstanding network in both the code and certification society as well as the international funding agency world. Mr René Magermans is the Financial Manager of FairMatch Support. He has over 15 years of working experience in account management for public and private organisations with commercial and developmental return expectations. He has worked in agriculture and fisheries for FAO and Dutch bilateral cooperation and in finance for Dutch NGOs and TRIODOS BANK. René has worked on investments and market development programs for private companies and financial institutions in Africa and Asia. He holds an MSc at Wageningen Agricultural University in Marketing, Development Economics and Fisheries. Mrs. Heike Axmann works as a senior program manager within FairMatch Support and is in charge of the cashew and fruit program. She has more than 10 years of working experience in development and implementation of sustainable certification systems in international supply chains. She started her career with Skal, the major organic certifier in The Netherlands. During the last 6 years she worked in the Fair Trade and organic fruit and vegetable sector for Agrofair Assistance and Development and Eosta. Obviously Heike’s passion is within agriculture. She enjoys working with producers to build profitable and sustainable supply chains. Heike holds an MSc at Wageningen Agricultural University in Tropical Land Use. Ms. Irene Christiansen is the Fairmatch Support Regional Cashew Program Manager Specialty Markets for the African Cashew initiative and is based in Accra, Ghana. Irene has worked with rural development in Asia and Latin America for more than 15 year after starting her career as an adviser for the Danish growers association. Her work has focused on strengthening farmers organizations and connecting them to specialty markets. She worked on rural enterprise development work with Danida in Bolivia and with SNV in Bhutan. She has also worked with technical and organisational capacity building of farmers in Nepal and Vietnam in close collaboration with multiple private and public actors. Irene holds a MSc in horticulture from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD in soil science from the University of Minnesota, USA.
